Mudumalai National Park, Tamil Nadu

Mudumalai National Park spread across 321 Sqkm is located south of Mysore & north west of Coimbatore. Its also been declared as a Tiger Reserve. This National Park is located at the tri junction of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu & Kerala states, with Bandipur National Park in Karnataka, Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary in Kerala & this one being in Tamil Nadu. This forest is part of the Nilgiri bio-sphere & also the western ghats.

The following pictures are taken in the peak summer (March - April), so you may not notice a lot greenery here. But for wildlife enthusiasts this is the right time.

How to get there:
The Mysore - Ooty road runs thru Mudumalai Forest, its around 90 km from Mysore & around 67 km from Ooty. The entire sanctuary can be covered by car or by elephant ride.
From Bengaluru its around 245km (Bengaluru - Mysore - Gundlupet - Bandipur - Mudumalai)
From Coimbatore its around 160 km (Coimbatore - Coonoor - Ooty - Masinagudi - Mudumalai)
